細細生理好安家

This is another nursery rhyme and this time is said by a child with a Gig’Ioⁿ 揭陽 accent.

I have made a change from uaⁿ1gê1 to mean to set up a home or settle down, a Mandarin word, to our own unique Teochew word huaⁿ7gê1 means 捍家 to support or manage a family where huaⁿ7 means to hold on to and gê1 means family.

I think the original of this nursery rhyme must have used the word “huan7gê1” which is a specific Teochew word. It means to manage a family / home or run a home or support a family. uan1gê1 安家 is a Mandarin word which means to “settle down” or to “set up a home”.

Those small soya beans are rather green.
