This time we will come to discuss characters which have been often mispronounced.

hung6ngao5

混淆

Dio5ziu1 Uê7 gah4 Pou2tong1 Uê7 hung6ngao5 ke3

潮州話佮普通話混淆去|潮州话佮普通话混淆去

Confusing and mixing up Teochew and Mandarin.

My comment: Not too dissimilar to Pou2tong1Dio5 Ghe2 普通潮語 where some people speak Teochew using Mandarin words and pronouncing them in Teochew and most of the time using the wrong pronunciation. Mogher calls this unorthodox Teochew [不正宗的潮語].

Second character

si2

to relax

song1si2

鬆弛|松弛

to relax

puê5hu1 song1si2

皮膚鬆弛|皮肤松弛

loose skin causing sagging and wrinkles

huang3song1

放鬆|放松

to relax

I have heard 放鬆 said as bang3song1. I cannot find if 放鬆 should be said as huang3song1 or bang3song1. As it is a Mandarin word, then technically, it should be said as huang3song1.

song1hai6

鬆懈|松懈

to relax

goi2de5

解除

to remove, to relieve somebody from their duties, to free, to lift an embargo, to rescind an agreement

I now understand why there is a confusion. If you were look at and the Simplified character - they look rather similar, which may be causing the confusion.

ci5

to run fast, to gallop, to spread, to disseminate

pung1ci5

Just for your information, this word 奔馳|奔驰 Bêng5si6 means Mercedes-Benz, the German car manufacturer. [and this is also a mispronunciation of characters 奔驰]
