Simple Tenses in Teochew

 This post is help you understand simple tenses in Teochew. 

Simple Future	will eat	I1 oi6 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊會食蘋果。
Simple Present	eat	I1 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊食蘋果。
Simple Past	ate	I1 ziah8 liao2 ping5guê2	伊食了蘋果。
Perfect Simple	has eaten	I1 ziah8 guê3 ping5guê2	伊食過蘋果。
Present Continuous	is eating	I1 lo2 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊裸食蘋果。

 ping5guê2 蘋果 means apple

lo2 裸 has the same meaning as the Mandarin 正在

To negate the above sentences.

will not eat apple	I1 bhoi6 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊𠁞食蘋果。
does not eat apple	I1 bhoi6hiao2 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊𠁞曉食蘋果。
did not eat an apple	I1 bho5 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊無食蘋果。
has not eaten an apple	I1 bho5 ziah8 guê3 ping5guê2	伊無食過蘋果。
is not eating an apple	I1 bho5 lo2 ziah8 ping5guê2	伊無裸食蘋果。

If one is taught Teochew by one's parents, one will not think about tenses when speaking Teochew because it just comes out naturally.
