It is another video from 四鄉六里文化 and I want to pick up a couple of phrases which are said in the beginning of the video.
They began with gu2si2 久死 which means for a long time. It is normal for the gu2's tone to change from 2 to 6 but she also extended the si2 [which means very] to tone 6. As a general rule, the final character's tone of a word does not change but she wanted to extend the si2 to si6 to emphasise that it has been a long time. The character si2 means die or dead in Chinese but in Teochew it is used to mean very.
One of them then went on to say, Guê3 gu2 bho5 ngo6dioh4! 過久無遇著｜过久无遇着 which means it is been very long since they have not met.
In Mandarin, it is said as hao3jiu3bu5jian4 好久不見｜好久不见 and in American English it is said as "long time no see"!
The final aspect of what is said which I want to raise is siao3niam6 le2 數念汝｜数念汝.
In Mandarin, shu3nian4 數念 means to enumerate one by one but however in Teochew, siao3niam6 數念 means to miss someone or to long for someone. In Mandarin is 想念
Siao3niam6 can also mean to be worried about someone. In Mandarin is 掛念.
