Unorthodox Teochew

I have been going on about Mandarin Teochew and by accident I found this expression in Mogher and it is called pou2tong1 Dio5ghe2 普通潮語  and the Mandarin explanation is 不正宗的潮汕話  unorthodox Teochew.

Let us listen to BhoKeLi 無去理 speak some unorthodox Teochew and I then wrote in proper Teochew. Sim6zi3 is listed as a Teochew word and it is therefore not changed.

So much so that many children simply do not speak Teochew.

甚至不少孩子不說潮汕話甚至不少孩子不说潮汕话

So much so that many children simply do not speak Teochew.

Our mother tongue is called Dio5suan1 Uê7 in our homeland.  However, many of us still call our mother tongue Teochew and Teochew is in the Oxford English dictionary and I therefore say Teochew to mean Dio5suan1 Uê7. When I want to refer to Teochew spoken in Teochew City, I make it very clear that this is so.
