Mr Quek from Singapore, has just uploaded a news video on how our children in our homeland are taught our nursery rhymes.
There are many good outcomes from teaching our children these nursery rhymes.
a] they will love our Teochew culture
b] they will know many of our Teochew words
c] they will be able to read and write using Teochew words.
These nursery rhymes are displayed and also projected on the board and I could see the children reading these nursery rhymes as well. This means they will write our Teochew language properly using the correct characters.
I have heard Professor Lim discussing this with a Singapore Teochew person and it is wonderful to watch a video which is reporting such good news.
