Climb

How do you say to climb in Teochew? 

We say this as bêh4 and this is not listed in Lin Lun Lun's dictionary but is listed in Zhang Xiao Shan's dictionary.  This word is also used in Taiwan's Hokkien. 

bêh4 [足百]	to climb	pa2 爬
bêh4 lao5tui1 [足百]樓梯	to climb a stairs	爬樓梯
bêh4 suan1 [足百] 山	to climb a mountain	爬山
bêh4 ciu7 [足百]樹	to climb a tree	爬樹

I also found an interesting expression as shown below. 

I think this must have been written by modern Teochew people because once upon a time, the Chinese government is rather anti religion. As you know, significant number of our people are rather devoted to the local deities which is called lao6ia5 as well as Buddha.

lao6ia5 oi6 kui1 cui3 zui2ghu5 ziu6 oi6 bêh4 ciu7  老爺會開嘴水牛就會[足百]樹。

If a deity can speak, then a water buffalo will climb a tree.

如果神明會說話水牛就會爬樹。

Also said as 

lao6ia5 oi6 kui1 cui3 zui2ghu5 ziu6 oi6 zion6 bê5 老爺會開嘴水牛就會上爬

(if the) deity can speak, water buffalo will climb a tree

神明會說話水牛就會爬樹
