Professor Lim uses our Teochew words and expressions II

Professor Lim continues teaching us our own Teochew words. These set of Teochew words were derived from the natives who lived in our homeland prior to us migrating there. We share these words with Hokkien people. Professor Lim said Cantonese people also use these words but I have not been able to find such words in Cantonese dictionaries. 

As for the ba1 - I think this was derived from a Thai word.

You go and steal people’s (things) once, people catch (you) think you are a habitual thief.

 As for the sai5, it comes from Sai5zog8 畬族 the original people who lived in our homeland.
