Just a point about gu2si6 久死 -  normally 死 si2 is tone 2 but people say it as tone 6 to emphasise that it has been very long since they had last met. Rules are there to be broken and if you were to listen to native speakers speak, they often change the tones of characters to make a point to emphasise something. Do remember, a language is alive and rules are dead and only to be used as a guideline.
