Cover again!

Do listen to this chef as uses the word cover in Teochew!

So why did he say kaiⁿ3 instead of koiⁿ3 ? The chef is from Swatow and people from Swatow are suppose to say koiⁿ3. However, in Swatow, there are lots of people from Dio'Ion 潮陽 and they kaiⁿ3. 

People's accent change when they mix with other people.

You may say but he uses a plate and why has he not said buaⁿ5 盤 ? You can also say he uses the wrong measure word and it should not be gi1 支 ! Technically, you are correct and when you go to Swatow, you can ask the chef directly.  He is a very famous chef in Swatow! 

I say koiⁿ3 for cover / lid because my roots are in Swatow but I understand that people from Teochew City say cover differently. 

You could ask me how would say the above. I would say:

kioh8 gai5 koin3 kam3 loh8ke3 𢭪個蓋蓋落去

take a lid and cover

拿個蓋子蓋上
