This is a set of Teochew words starting with "R" and does not include standard Chinese words starting with R.
For English educated gaginang, I think we will find this Romanised Teochew "R" the most difficult and the pronunciation does not follow what we say logically. I therefore recommend that you use Mogher and CZYZD websites to help you pronounce correctly. You need to enter the simplified character into these two Teochew websites and press on the sound button and you can then hear the sound of the character.
To be frank I had difficulty pronouncing rong5 絨 like in gho5rong5 to mean goose down. This is a standard Chinese word and therefore not included in this list. It took me several weeks of training to be able to say rong5.
In one of my dictionaries, they write r as dz. So if one were to say re5 as to wipe, the dictionary would write it as dze5.
However, I do not think this dz call apply to all, and dzong5 does not come out with the right sound.
I therefore recommend that you do not look at the spelling but focus on the sound and pronunciation with the help of Mogher or CZYZD websites to adjust your pronunciation and do not expect to get it right first time.
Thank goodness all the words beginning with r on this list should be words which we all have learnt from young from our parents. However, we may find some newly imported Mandarin Teochew words starting with r difficult to say, such as rong5 as stated above.
