I have posted this song sung by a Malaysian man previously.

This song was sung by Li Siao Diang 李小珍 a singer born in Indonesia and now living in Singapore.

When she was interviewed previously, she said she could not read Chinese characters and she sung from Romanised Teochew.

She went to our homeland to learn to sing and in the process learnt our Romanised Teochew.

There are far too many Mandarin Teochew in some parts of the song and I have written out a table to show how we Teochew people would normally say these words.

 The second dream is about a monkey with a red ass jumping from tree to tree.

 There is no character for ngiao2 as in ngiao2ce2 which means a rat or mouse. Tou3 means a rabbit and sing1neng6 means a bridegroom. Tai6 means to wait. This stanza means the second dream is about a rabbit becoming a bridegroom and a rat adorning itself waiting in the middle of a room and then the rabbit jumping into a rat's hole.

The fourth dream is about a fatso entering a toilet and a skinny one quickly running to see and saw a hole in the pair of trousers.

 mang2 is mosquito and bhung1 is the Mandarin word for mosquito, ziⁿ5lêng is a gecko

The firth dream is about an earthworm becoming a mosquito and then flying to pick some fragrant flower and a gecko everywhere biting people without reason.

I have no idea what is "sêng5 kang1" sêng5 means success, finish, complete and kang1means a hole - and I have no idea what a completed hole means!

The last confused dream is about loving one person, holding hands and wanting to enter a room and then be woken up . . .
