Cooking Terms II

This is to continue with the previous post on “cooking terms”.

I have watched several of Iab Hui’s 葉飛 cooking videos to see if I could discover what characters I can learn to describe the end product of prepared food ingredients.

In this video, I have heard him used the following terms.

截幼粒

Slice into small pieces

iun3liab8 could have the same meaning as bhuah8

bhuah8

Fine pieces almost powdered form

goi1iong5

鷄蓉

mince chicken

He did not use the adjective co3 and used iong5 instead. Could the adjective ni5  be used for such case?

su3cai3 素菜 means a vegetable dish and zê1cai3 齋菜 is a vegetarian dish.

buê1lêng5 cui3

菠薐碎

finely chopped spinach

huê2tui2 bhuah8

火腿末

finely chopped ham

 金華火腿
