I think our Teochew language is very colourful.
Look at this
example where the son in law said ming7 ou1 guê3 pua3bou3 - the face is blacker
than a piece of rag. If there had not been a Mandarin translation, I would
not have known it meant “not in a good mood”.

It is explained as in Mandarin as 心情不好
– not in a good mood.
