In this documentary video, you will be able to listen to Dio5ioⁿ5 潮阳 accent. Our Teochew language experts say Dio5ioⁿ5 accent is the closest to Middle Chinese, spoken over a thousand years ago in Central China.

The documentary is about the making of guê2zab4 粿汁 one of our Teochew dishes. People who particular about the use of Teochew characters would have said that I should have written guê2zab4 as 餜汁∣馃汁。

I have to listen closely to what is said and read the subtitles for I am not used to listening to Dio5ioⁿ5 accent but I can hear it is clearly our spoken Teochew language.
