I remember my mother calling a kitchen zao3ê6 竈下|灶下 and she also called a kitchen huê2sig8 伙食 and nowadays many people call a kitchen 廚房 dou5bang5, translated from the Mandarin word for kitchen.
In Taiwan, there is a restaurant call Huê2sig8 Cang1guang2 伙食餐館 and my teacher informs me that in our
homeland huê2sig8 is now understood to be a canteen.
The kitchen god is called zao3sing5 竈神 and the rag we use in the kitchen
for cleaning is called zao3bou3 竈布
How do you say kitchen in Teochew Uê?
