I think we can all benefit from listening to this video. I have made notes on the first few sentences the speaker said.

He mispronounce 點綴 which means toppings, decorations裝飾 and he should have said diam2cuag4

 kêng1bung3gi1 筐畚箕 is in the picture and it is the bamboo winnowing basket shown below and can be said just as bung3gi1 畚箕


Some of you may think why I have chosen to write using Teochew characters. One way of ensuring cultural genocide is to not to allow the people to write in their own language or speak their own language or both. It is my way of preserving our ancient language. It has taken me over 16 years to master the reading and writing of Teochew and I think I ought to share it with you. You can learn Mandarin from reading the subtitles on the video. The Romanisation which I use is standard Teochew dictionary spelling which is based on Swatow accent. I love listening to Teochew spoken from Teochew City, but this is not the standard form chosen by the authorities for our ancient language.
