I have decided to open up Zhang Xiao Shan’s dictionary and from page 627 of his 2^nd Edition dictionary. There are two meanings for so1mong5.

Mandarin translation: 用手輕撫｜用手轻抚
Uses a hand to caress lightly
Second Meaning
