Someone has asked me to cover Teochew grammar. It is a very complicated topic but I can take a first step.
I have just added an entry into my study notes and please see the entry below.
You will notice we do not start the sentence with zia2gai7 者個 [the Mandarin equivalent is 這個] but we start with a Measure Word which we call liang6se5 量詞 and for a bowl [uan2] it would be gai but when gai begins in a sentence it is always said as tone 2.
To say the bowl is too large - we say "gai2 uan2 guê3 hain1"
hain1 is a homophone with hain1 兄 as in brother
