Say what happens if one were to find that one does not know some of the characters in the exercise. Then you will have to find examples of similar characters / words which one knows. See the table below for an example.

For example if one has not heard hung3, hung6 and hung7 then one finds words or characters which one knows well and can say them well and practise saying them with the characters as shown above.
NOTE: dou2kung3 means hungry; dou6bung3 means rubbish or in American English garbage. Cung3 is inch / inches.
Hung3 means to teach such as hung3iog8 訓育 means pedagogy.
As for hung6 we say hung6huêh4 混血 for mixed blood or hybrid. As for sung6 we say zêg8 lou7 sung6 huang1 一路順風 to mean to have a safe journey. Dung6 is a method of cooking.
Mung7 is to ask, bung7 is cooked rice, rung7 is to describe meat which is tough. Dung6 is a method of cooking similar to bain marie.
