rig is the sun, ghuêh is the moon, ru means just like so means shuttle

Do you remember the 18 shuttle boats by Teochew City? These are called zab8boih4 so1zung5 rih8si3 ziu1 十八梭船廿四州

zab'boih means 18 

so'zung means shuttle boats 

rih'si means 24 

ziu means state 

Are there really 24 states? 

zab8boih4 so1zung5 rih8si3 ziu1 is just a saying . . .

You can remember so1 with these shuttle boats

the sun and moon are like shuttles - i.e. time flies very fast

another saying

guang1im1se6ziⁿ3  光陰似箭｜光阴似箭

guang'im means available time 

se6 means like

ziⁿ3 means arrow

available time is like an arrow i.e. time flies very fast
