I want to discuss about this Teochew culture 潮汕文化 which is unique to our people.
So what is 閒間文化 oin5goin1 bhung7huê3? This is unique to our Teochew people 潮人. Nobody else in China would have such a culture.
It can be described as having a room, where there are table and chairs and people can sit or stand, drink tea and chat.
The younger ones listen to the conversation of their elders and in this way our culture is passed on from one generation to the next.
Other people might think we are crazy to want to waste our time with one another. They might think it is better to do something which is more productive like making money.
However, for our people, it is more important to transmit our culture to the next generation - ziah8 dê5 食茶, puêh8 uê7 詖話 drink tea and chat.
If you were to search Chinese dictionaries to the high heaven, you will not find 閒間文化 oin5goin1 bhung7huê3 in any of the dictionaries. This is specifically our Diosua culture 潮汕文化.
