What new word did I learn today?

I learn new Teochew words everyday through all sorts of ways. I have learnt a new Teochew word today!

lao6di7gêng1 老地弓

I then checked with my Teochew dictionary to find out what it means. There are two meanings listed in Zhang Xiao Shan's second edition Teochew dictionary page 163 

a] very familiar with circumstances / situation

b] very familiar towards location’s terrain 

lao6 as in old

di7 as in di7hng1 地方 a place 

gêng1 as in a bow or banana gêng1zio1 弓蕉

 Note: xiang3bu5dao4  想不到 to mean “cannot imagine, hard to imagine, unexpected, could not have thought of it, cannot be foreseen, has not been anticipated” can also be said in Teochew Uê as:

In our homeland, money is called “ngeng5 銀” as in silver.  Ten Yuan or Ten RMB is said as “zab8ngeng5 十銀”.
