I saw this character 鎮 and I thought of ding3 which means a town. If your ancestry were from Gig’ion 揭陽 then perhaps your parents would have taught you to say dêng3.
Ding3 can also mean to reserve in advance as in ding3ui7 鎮位|镇位.
Another use of ding3 is as
